No 'Poo

So I've decided to try this thing called "No 'Pooing" and NO its not what you think. It has nothing to do with your bodily functions. Its actually No Shampooing. I'm going to replace my shampoo with A mix of water and baking soda. apparently this cleans your hair. So what about conditioning? A mix of apple cider vinegar and water does the trick. The acidity in the vinegar closes the hair folicles and makes your hair nice and shiney. What about the smell? When your hair dries the smell goes too.

According to what I've read. Shampoo strips your hair of your natural oil, so your scalp over compensates by over producing oil thats why by the end of the day your hair is greasy matted mess....

Your hair for the first few weeks is going to feel a little greasy and matted because your body is used to producing too much oil for your hair. And if I can get past those first few weeks it will be worth it..

So we will see how this goes...

In other news Liam's second birthday is coming quickly. I cant believe my sweet little man is going to be two already!

UPDATE! 1-27-2011 8:28pm

Okay so I tried it this morning and I was nervous about how gross my hair would feel. And actually it felt a little oily while it was wet. Once it air dried, it didnt feel oily at all or any different than usual. I thought well maybe I got lucky. After I worked out today, I washed it again, this time I blow dried it. My hair isnt oily and it doesnt smell like vinegar. Either this thing works or I am incredibly lucky for my hair to be doing so well on the first day... but it is only the first day.

  1. I did it for about a week and my hair seemed to be doing fine. But I ended up using some of my shampoo I still had. Soo I think once I run out I will go back to trying.
