Moving Mountains.
This last week... we watched a mountain move. No. I take it back. It CRUMBLED!
Have you ever had a "mountain" standing in your way? Having a problem so huge that there is no getting around, over, or through it?
Before Christmas we had a mountain drop into our laps and we felt there was no way of moving it from where it held us down. A school debt that had gone to collection had resurfaced in the form of a very very large mountain.
We are on a very tight budget and we choose to live as frugally as possible. So having someone demand tens of thousands of dollars can be a little overwhelming. Considering even a small hundred dollar payment would hardly dent it at all. The company was willing to settle for 60% less than the original debt. However taking the deal meant we had 10 days to come up with a still significantly large sum of money that we did not have.
A dear friend suggested we take the deal and that we have faith that God would provided what we needed.
Seriously? Yeah....our friend was dead serious. We decided that we needed to be serious too. Serious about believing that nothing is impossible with God. NOTHING.
We believed. We prayed. We waited.
The first check came, then the second, then the third and a few more trickled in. Eight days after we took the deal believing that if we had faith that God would provide He did, we had the money we needed to erase this debt. And be debt free. Mountain gone.
